Quaint campground with lots of space. Unisex. Bathrooms on site are outhouse style. No running water but plenty of fire pits. On site manager was awesome, very informative, and very helpful.
Loved this place! For a free almost roadside riverfront camping this was an amazing find! Relatively quiet (there was minor road noise even though we stayed as far from the highway as possible) with fire rings and several pull-thru type spots that suited our needs perfectly. The vault toilets were some of the cleanest we’ve seen anywhere and the sights were clean as well. There was a “Camp Host” on site, however we did not have any interaction with them as we only stayed one night. No trash facility, no fresh water, no dump site and yet you still get so much more than you pay for!
It's primitive camping. Mosquitoes, stone fire rings, wildlife, plenty of shade, the usual. Grab a spot, no numbers. Basically quiet; some road noise, people chatter. Only stayed one night; would stay again. The vaultroom, vault toilet, is super clean. Kudos to whomever is in charge of that job. I gave it a four because the mosquitoes are super annoying. But, no fault of the campground. It's just a reminder from nature. I was surprised to see a horseshoe setup near the vaultroom back in the back area by the vaultroom closet to the road.
Only 2 bad things, dirt is really dirty. Some sites closer to the water needs more shade. Other then that we always have a good time there.
Beautiful scenery and quite atmosphere. Fishing in the bigwood is great even with just a worm😁.
