Budgewoi Holiday Park

We just spend a few nights here on a powered site. Great park, loads of shade, well stocked reception store, short 300m walk to a bakery and pub, 1km to Coles. Pool was clean and a great size, amenities were clean and well maintained. Powered sites are very large, with plenty of space and nice and quiet. Would come back again, thanks for a great stay.

The staff at the holiday park have always been friendly and helpful, the park itself is well maintained, toilet and shower facilities are great. The location on Lake Munmorah is excellent and truly peaceful. Close to the shops as well makes it my go to for camping with either just my partner and I or with our family.

Overall, the stay was fine. The location is excellent, but the amenities could be improved. Having only two small fridges for a site with over 200 camps isn’t sufficient. The toilets also weren’t well maintained — although cleaners came twice a day, it may be due to patrons not using the facilities properly.

Overall the park is Ok with predominantly tents & swags during the busy Xmas period and touring caravan’s sited throughout the park interspersed with a number of ‘semi permanent’ vans/cabins. Swimming access to the lake is severely restricted due to shoreline weed growth and during our stay water quality restrictions. Inevitable issues with electric powered devices (e-bikes, scooters etc) resulted in management issuing a reminder that e-bikes were not permitted whilst ignoring the numerous e-scooter issues. Facilities and park reasonably well maintained during the busy period but not worthy of a positive rating.

This was a hard one to review......would I stay here again, probably as it was quiet and a good walk along the lake. Compared to a few other coast NRMA parks we've stayed at which I rated highly across all aspects, Budgewoi is a lakeside park with easy access to Lakes Beach if needed. The sites were large & level, heaps of birdlife and an easy walk to the pub & shops. Amenities were a bit dated in the section we were in, but I understand/saw evidence of upgrades underway. The kids play area and pool were getting a lot of attention and the lady at reception was very friendly and helpful.
