Well maintained campground. Bath/shower houses are clean and well maintained. The lake is beautiful. Stayed there twice; while traveling to and again while traveling from central Florida.

The bear lake loop trail was a great hike! Definitely one of the more beautiful ones in the blackwater river state forest. There were many dogs and people on the trail and everyone we came into contact with was pleasant. There were lots of spots to sit and enjoy nature and even a little Easter egg (in the pics). I’ll have to bring a picnic next time!

We actually are more so reviewing the hiking loop. This is an always do trek when we are up around here. I have camped before when it was colder and not as crowded. I don’t like the crowds when it’s packed and busy, but that’s just my opinion because when I go to camp I do it to get away from people or crowds. So if you don’t mind being close or busy campground then this is for you! We always hike bear lake loop and then take connecting trail to krul. No swimming at bear lake unless you want to get a nibble by a gator I guess, but haven’t seen one here ever - I will take the signs word for it. Oh and love seeing the pitcher plants too! Alive wasp inside one of them this hike.

A nice place to camp, either tent or camper. There are some decent trails for off road bicycling or hiking. It's a State Park, so you need a pass to go there. There are picnic tables near the water so you don't have to camp if you just want a day trip. The restrooms have good showers and they're kept clean.

I’ve stayed here two times so far and will come back. Everything is well maintained and cleaned. However, there is a humongous infestation of ants. Both times within 2 weeks of each other my stuff is covered with ants and my poor legs and feet were swollen from the constant ant bites. There has to be something the camp host can spray down the grounds with to just reduce the amount of ants. Everything else is nice and relaxing.
