Beautiful campground ruined by noise. We were so excited to stay here for the last year since we found the park last summer but oh what a disappointment. There is a private campground just across the road from the state park entrance and they have live bands with LOUD music that we can hear loud and clearly through our camper walls. It's really a shame. It's a beautiful campground with lots of amenities, but we will not be back for this very reason. There is no reason we should be able to hear their music at 1130 p.m. over half a mile away. Also a little disappointment with the lack of good fishing access as the entire bank of the park is covered in large rocks with no safe areas to fish from. But this issue is minor compared to the noise issue. The staff here are great but the noise will keep us from returning.
This place is huge and is absolutely beautiful. Nice little spot to take the family fishing and just hang out for the day.
Stayed in the Weigand campground. Sites are nice but have no privacy. Beautiful views of the river. Bathrooms are disgusting.
Love this place! Shady, excellent boat ramps, swimming beaches, rental cabins, and a beautiful lake to have all kinds of fun. Kid friendly with playgrounds and even a Amphitheater ! Trails to walk and talk! Totally recommend and go camping.I camped on the S Dakota side of the lake not Nebraska!
Here is an excellent campsite on the edge of the lake, the place is clean, the streets are paved, the campsites are well leveled. The toilets are clean as well as the showers. There is a drain station with drinking water. //Lewis and Clark has over 150 electrical sites with 30- and 50-amp electrical hook-ups and more than 100 primitive campsites. Campgrounds include showers, picnic tables, fire pits, nearby water spigots (not hookups), dump stations and playground. Camping is available year-round; however modern facilities operate from April-October, weather permitting. An equestrian camping area with corrals is also located in the south shore area. Water is available but no electricity.
