Recent upgrades have been a step backwards. The parking lot is completely unmarked so people drive through and park however they feel like and you're taking your life in your hands parking there. Forget about getting dinner, because the staff at the food court is too busy stuffing their faces in the back with stolen food to be bothered waiting on customers. I could have told you from my experiences on other toll roads that contracting with Applegreen was a mistake. Bulldoze the facility, fire everyone who works there, and start over.

I travel the Ohio Turnpike often and make frequent stops at the Travel Plazas and I am generally pleased. Today, Monday March 24 at 7:30 am I was very disappointed in the Vermillion Travel Plaza. All the gas pumps were out of order and inside there were only vending machines for snacks, the convenience store was not open. What a let-down, I was hungry and needed gas after leaving Toledo very early. I had to travel to the next Plaza for gas and snacks.

Great free RV dumping station! Only frustrating thing is that if your RV towing vehicle is gas and not diesel and if you follow signs for RV, then you have to do a U- turn in the parking lot after the truck pumps and drive into the gas pumps backwards to get to the single gas pump if your towing vehicle has a gas fill on the driver’s side. Fortunately it wasn’t busy so we were able to do so easily. There’s no way of driving to the gas pumps for the car section after driving thru the RV area.

Like many (and probably all) Ohio Turnpike travel plazas, this one is clean, maintained, safe, well-lit, lots of parking and plenty of food and snacks of you need them. Gas prices are usually reasonable compared to area prices.

When your traveling through multiple states it can very difficult to find a nice place to stop. This service plaza is one of the cleanest, welcoming public stops I've ever been to. There were plenty of places to eat and endless amounts of snacks and drinks. The bathrooms were very clean and every stall was fully stocked.
