Friendly atmosphere, amazing food. Why would you go for a pub meal when you can enjoy truly wonderful food with a breathtaking view for a few dollars more???
we camped- sandflies liked my son. not me 😜 close to beach great views from all around the park staff become family great facilities- Kitchenette space had a TV, fireplace, cook top's, sink, couch, table n chairs, toaster, microwave, kettle (was not expecting this) neat dog friendly quiet loved drinking water signs. showers/toilets 👌 option of serenity; bush feels, on the water, caravan or tent in the middle
We decided to change our campground at last minute for the aurora lights. Luckily we had the experience to see it. The location is nice, easy to access the beach. Good for a hot shower, location is great. Peaceful walk in the morning Cons: The water was brown. If the facility have a bit more cleaner would be nice.Bush site Unpowered for $75 quite expensive though.
We stayed for one week around New Year’s at this campground. The place is very nice and felt quiet even though it was full. There is a good mix of bush sites and flat powered sites, and the grass was well maintained. The toilets were always very clean, and I rarely had to wait for a shower. The ramp to the beach is short, easy, and very accessible. Our main issue was the dam water. At the beginning of our stay, the water was lightly brown, which is understandable for dam water. However, two days into our stay it became very dark brown, and we had to shower, wash dishes, and brush our teeth with this water for the rest of the week. I think the campground should introduce shower time limits and set specific hours when showers are not allowed, as well as add signs encouraging shorter showers. Signs with time limits were only added once the water was already very brown, which makes me feel these measures should have been put in place earlier. Alternatively, adding more water tanks could help. I’m not sure what the best solution is, but I do know that other campgrounds manage this better, and it was disappointing to use such poor-quality water for most of our stay. The general store recently started offering hot drinks, which is great, though better-quality coffee would be appreciated. The staff were super nice and friendly. Entry to the campground requires a code, but we had two sites and were only given two codes, which wasn’t enough for four families. I think at least two codes per site should be provided. Overall, despite the water issues, I would come back to this campground.
It has a large variety of sites for tents and caravans. The beach is right near the area, and it is very beautiful and peaceful. The bathrooms are good, with enough toilets and showers and there is drinking water available.
