Amazing quiet campground. Stayed 2 nights and even extended for 1 more night. Plenty of birds to see and hear during a day and small wallabies in the evening. Cold shower is great and refreshing! Perfect for yoga. Highly recommend spot to stay! Near Kuranda, Emerald and Davies Falls.

Due to no fire pits at the 3 individual Muti use sites. Nor is there any other shelter apart from the 1 working BBQ which is off to the side. This would not be my first pick of camps if there was any others close to Kuranda or Cairns itself. However 3rd time round I booked into Tent only and made use of the fire. You would just have to be prepared to share fire pit with others, as long as they contribute to the fire 🔥 wood 🪵. Enjoy the COLD shower. Wouldn’t be too hard to setup a Solar hot water setup to it that cost nothing to operate, & no further cost. (Black Polly pipe matt or coil, best use during the day.) What this needs is ground leveled out in flat pads in tent section. In middle but that is not being used, level sections for more Multi use sites. Each needs a shelter 5x5 meter with a table and seat on one side. Protection from sun & QLD Heavy rain. Could put a water tank on each. Why waste. A fire pit same side as only current fire pit. Place fire pit on a 3x3 meter concrete pad in the center same height as grass so not a trip hazard. Need to eliminate some uneven surfaces. (Trip hazard, unless the Government wants to get sued.) To top of grass tent area, some proper steps in place, say 3. Toilets good, need another at top & bottom of site. For the situation of hiking groups that come here, another shower with Hot water on gas would be good for end of day shower. Another two individual Bbq with large shelter, that are distant apart. Keep it COVID Safe. At each Multi use sites, grass section on side is currently not usable due to slop. Rain just washed off into your camp site, flooding you. Drainage at each site, cross section on grass. Trench pit drain at edge of parking/ camp side. Channel of other side to drain water off to the rear. All fire pits with swig arm with just slotted hot plate. As no one knows how to clean a hot plate. Plenty of bird sounds. Saw a couple of skippy’s. Haven’t done walk yet, need more maps at info stand. Telstra phone reception 1-2 bars, so you can book your site after seeing it in person. 🙂 Unlike most other National Parks that requires you to book in advance with NO photo of each individual site, so you can’t see what you are booking if it’s suitable for you! Either eliminate the booking system and just pay for permits onsite. Or put in a Wi-Fi hotspot (locked down) that allows you just to be able to access National Park Booking system, & access Google Maps to lookup any other camp grounds. As there may not be a suitable site for your camping setup at this camp ground or nothing available. > Naked Possum

A wonderful campground with a nice little walk. The toilets and showers are ok for a national park campground. The campground even has a BBQ. At the beginning of the walk we saw a cassowary male with his young one. Just amazing!!! Definitely recommend staying there.

nice little camping in the national park. could expect better layout, but poorly thought, only 3 spaces for caravans and campers, the rest is only tents. also only one fire pit for the whole campground and no benches, just few low uncomfortable tables scattered around the site. 4th star is only for the cold shower and bbq.

Beautiful location and very quiet. The facilities were basic but clean and functional. Even the cold shower was welcome in this heatwave! I thought it was a wonderful campground especially if you are a birder. With a bit of luck you might get a visit from a cassowary.
