Great location and beautiful views. The river put you to sleep at night. The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 was the proximity to the road. Old bathrooms but super clean.
This was a good mid point for all our activities. Not far to the Collegiates, rafting Royal Gorge, or visiting Salida or Canon City. We were there for 6 nights around Labor Day and river level was very low so you could even tube the river. Staff was very helpful and courteous. There were all kinds of activities. They had ice tye dying, hayrides and ice cream night. This is a smaller KOA and from reviews I wasn't expecting much, but it was very nice. It is right on the river next to public lands on the side and sandwiched between the river and Hwy 50. Our site backed up to hwy 50, but it was very quite at night, even during the holiday evenings. There were a few loud trucks, but not a big deal.
Wonderful get-a-way place. Very well kept grounds, super clean bathrooms, great pool, pet friendly cabins, and right along the river.
Great place to stay, even has small hotel, cabins right on the river! New friendly hosts, and the place looks great. They added some new tent sites right on the river. Good place for pets and kids, cause you can walk right onto the National Forest. No internet, but hopefully soon!
This KOA is in a great location. The facilities are older, like almost all KOAs, but the hosts are truly 5 star worthy. The activities they have for kids and their general attentiveness are both top notch. We truly enjoyed our time here. A few tips if you are considering coming. They have a great little store that is well supplied with the essentials. Be mindful of your site selection as the first two rows near the river have no septic (typical when on the water) but those along the water are really great. If you have kids l, do a project in the art shed - it's great. Great fishing and hiking right from the campground and many camp sites. Mind your awnings here. Wind picks up suddenly down the river and can do damage if your awning isn't sturdy. All in all we reccomend this campground. Great location, plenty to do and terrific hosts.
