General store purchase left feeling unpleasant, I went in the general store this morning in hopes to purchase a new fishing creek shirt, I found one that was a small enough size that fit perfect, but there were only two on the shelf. One had a noticeable snag on the front and the other had a stain on the sleeve and front. I went to the register asking if there was anyway they could discount the stained shirt, but Debbie refused and then I was going to purchase the shirt anyways to try to get the stain out myself since it was the only one that fit me so then she took the shirt to the back store room and told me that they could not sell me the shirt at all. I feel that they could’ve easily made a phone call to the boss and made an exception. Cindy was trying to do the right thing and make a call to see what could be done but then Debbie stepped in and turned the entire purchase down. We had a great time at fish eating Creek. Every person was so kind and patient until I came across Debbie. It’s just a shame that that will be the ending memory. In the future, I would suggest more size small shirts be purchased so that other people that are smaller can have a selection as well.
This is the 4th time coming here. Grounds were pretty empty. Nice time relaxing. Negatives - There is currently a fire ban (not the park's fault) but camping without a fire is not camping and it got pretty cold. Only negative comment is that we arrived around 11:45 to check in and were charged an additional early check in fee of $15 which I think was petty given the park was very empty and again no fires allowed. Overall very friendly staff, bathrooms were acceptable and canoe service was good. Will come back.
Very beautiful campground. I would recommend to anyone that likes to be out in the woods. They do have full hookups and good WiFi at b8. They also have kayaking and canoe rentals. Wonderful campground
I booked canoe for river trip at Fisheating Creek Park and it was easy process, great reminders and when I arrived to location the staff was amazing and very helpful. Great location for birdwatching. I really enjoyed the canoe ride and I am looking forward to exploring more in that area next time.
This is our 4th visit in the past 3 years and we always find the hiking interesting on the trails. RV camp sites are spacious and nicely paved with H2O - Sewer & Electric hook ups. Property is pet friendly, but you MUST have your current Vet paperwork showing current Rabies & other shots or your pet will be rejected entry ( they take this seriously, which we appreciate, as many RV places say they check paperwork and don’t. ) Campsites also have fire/grill rings, but please ask upon arrival if it’s too dry for using these - to prevent wild fire in an RV park… which is never good! If you are tent camping, they have TONS of different areas of the campground to tent camp! They have sites WAY in the back by the swimming pond, super remote tent sites through the scrub brush between pond & main campground, at end of main campground (even Equestrian Sites!) these are very shaded and lush grass areas, and they have tent camping down between the river front and the RR tracks. Speaking of railroad tracks, this is a live track used by smaller freight train that runs every few hours - back and forth. Mostly hauling raw sugar cane I believe. Track is only 75’ - 100’ feet behind the “F” line of RV camping sites. NOTE: if you don’t like hearing a train whistle blow and hear/feel the rumbling of a train every few hours (except Sunday) then do not camp here. I grew up living this close to a freight train just like this, so I actually LOVE having it run by so close to where we are camping! See video! Staff have always been friendly. Bathhouse is super clean with hot showers, flush toilets, and sinks. They also have Vault toilets by pond/tent camping area, and Port-A-potty down by river camping. There is nice laundry with $1.50 machines, and it’s a clean area. Gift shop very nice and well stocked. 1st visit here we rented canoe and the river is lovely and full of alligators and birds.
