A lovely well shaded park, with plenty of lovely green grass for the kids to play on, or to sit and have a picnic. Fenced playground for the kids and an undercover BBQ area with fixed tables and seating. Only 1 street back from the main street, so food and refreshments are only a short walk! Its also where our local Information centre is located and also the bus stop area for anyone travelling by bus through our town.
Parking for caravans/trailers. Disability parking. Toilets. Electric barbecues. Playground. Shady trees. Picnic tables. Rubbish bins.
Went to the DV march. Finished at the park near the old rail station. Rotary has a free sausage sizzle. The shade from the big trees was wonderful and a real sense of community was created. Young has a beautiful heart.
Anderson Park is a great place to sit in the shade of the beautiful plane trees and eat your take away lunch. Young Tourist Information Centre, situated in the old train station, is opposite the park. There is a small enclosed park for kids. The markets are held here on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturdays of the month. Local produce, crafts, baked good, Korean food stall, honey among other things. There is plenty of shady parking, and caravan parking. Also, public toilets are available. Conveniently located one block behind the main street, it is a good place to park your car in the shade and stroll to the main street to access the shops. When we were there today a group of 50's buses happened to pull in. 😃
Came here for the National Cherry Festival on 3rd Dec. Food was a letdown, cherry pie wasn't good, cherries not as good as the ones I picked in Hall Family Orchard. There were some good fun rides there. Was not able to stay longer to watch the cherry pie eating & spitting competition. However, it is a good community event.
